Transcendence into cosmos
5 min, Digitised Super 8 film, 2021
The work, Transcendence into cosmos, is a five-minute long film shown in a loop. It is made up of two scenes, where two characters exist in separate frames. A human and a bird. The work was made after being introduced to the thinking of the biologist Jakob von Uexküll, and the film is a gateway to understanding the parallel perception of time and spatial worlds. But also how the camera can manipulate them. Film has the unique ability to relate two unrelated geographical spaces. The meditative repetition in the movements of the characters puts the images together into one scene. In here, in the space of the film, they are sharing the same perception of time.
